I officially retired from a full-time, regular job at age 59 in 2008 when I sold my 7-store retail chain in southern California. After a brief hiatus I was ready to get back into the game of work more actively and became involved in several projects. This section will briefly outline some of the projects on which I’m currently working. Transcending Business
This is the name of our overarching, encompassing “parent company” which is an umbrella for our other projects. I define “Transcending” as going beyond a certain set of recognized concepts; expansion of ideas & practices beyond the normal; surpassing usual limits; to be greater than something ordinary; and especially: enriching by contributing something new. Transcending Business shares its net profits with all shoes who have worked on its projects and contributes at least 10% of its net profits to worthy people and causes.
After 26 year founding and growing a 7 store retail chain in a whole new industry, I now desire to further stretch my business acumen. By creating projects that enhance & enrich the lives of all those actually involved in the growth & success of a particular project, we hope to see new visions for entrepreneurship and business.

VivShane Adventures
This venture is our major focus now. We have a website, Facebook Page, Instagram Account and YouTube Channel devoted to our travels, especially our current 4+ year slooow trip around the world. Selling Domain Names
Buying and selling domain names (URLs) can be a good online income source. Indeed, many companies have full time staffs devoted to this niche industry. It is estimated that over 2 billion domains exist (though only 400K are active) so there’s plenty of room for domain movement and profit for traders.
Domains can be developed into fully or partially functional websites. They can operate as drop shipping sites for products connected to their name. Or they can be marketed to potential buyer who might have a business or interest related to the unique domain.
We buy and sell domains and have plans to develop several of them into Drop-Shipping websites and/or Affiliate (commission) websites. We are also researching & highly motivated to purchase several partially developed websites with good statistics and jet propel them into many magnets. My beautiful and multi-talented wife, Vivian, in addition to once being an Emergency Room Nurse, Paramedic, and Administrative Office Manager of a 7-store retail chain, has a tremendous gift and “eye” for the photographic arts. She has been fascinated with photography since her teenage years. Friends, relatives and clients have always marveled at her talent for capturing just the right moment, pose, framing, lighting and composition. Vacation Resort Rentals
I have been a timeshare owner for over 2 decades. I’ve learned that industry inside out. We now own weeks and points with Wyndham Vacation Resorts, RCI, Diamond Resorts, Destination Xchange, and Interval International (II). All these resorts feature gorgeous grounds, facilities and accommodations. Over 95% of them have full kitchens and range from 1-4 bedroom units. More luxurious VIP or Presidential suites are also available.

Philippine Property Development
I have been to the Philippines at least 15 times and never for less than a month. My wife Vivian was raised in the Philippines, her native tongue is Tagalog, and did not leave until she married me. To say that we know the country well is a huge understatement.
The Philippines is a gigantic archipelago of over 7,000 islands. (We have been to several dozen of them.) Yet most of its almost 110 million citizens live on only 3 islands: Luzon, Cebu and Mindanao. There are some VERY sparsely populated islands with gorgeous beaches, mountains, caves and lush forests. And there are areas of the populated islands which have undeveloped beachfront properties.
The RP is the largest Catholic Asian country and largest English-speaking Asian country. This beautiful, friendly land has many, many wonderful things going for it. I liken it to Hawaii on steroids or being in Hawaii during the 1950’s.
We will probably ultimately retire here, and just live part-time in the USA, although we’ll continue our slooow trip around the world for many years to come. It’s hard to completely leave the comfort and amenities the good ‘ole USA has to offer, not to mention the beloved members of my family. But the Philippine islands beckon us in a deep, resonant way. We are always looking at properties, resorts and land for our ultimate haven and nest which can combine very comfortable living and a source of income. We’re currently looking at one that is only 2 hours from metro Manila. Its right on the beach in front of a protected Marine Sanctuary. We’re considering developing it for part time living and part time renting it out on Airbnb and other platforms.
